Status of GNU/Linux with network?

I’m looking for a Cortex-A73 computer that can run aarch64 GNU/Linux (glibc-flavored instead of Android) with IPv4 networking (Ethernet preferred, but wifi is OK, too, if there’s a method for setting up wifi in the first place). Is hikey 960 it? (I don’t need a desktop environment.)

The download page for a Debian image doesn’t actually have any working download links.

Is there a working and documented method for getting an aarch64 GNU/Linux system on hikey 960 and enabling networking and sshd? Where is the documentation?

I have a Lenovo USB-Ethernet adapter whose drivers ship in a typical kernel. At least it works out of the box on Ubuntu and Chrome OS.
