MIPI Camera Already outputting to Data lines

Hi. I have a MIPI camera that is already outputting data and clock signals. I am unable to capture any video however. I think it might have something to do with the device tree setup for the camera. Do I need to set a particular mode so that the MIPI interface knows that the camera is already outputting data? I’ve seen something called slave-mode versus master-mode. I’ve tried both but no luck so far.
Any help would be great because I am a newbie to device trees and mipi in general.

Thanks,
Kim

I should also mention that the custom board controls the MIPI camera so the snapdragon 820c does not have any control via i2c. Once the custom board sets up the MIPI camera, data just and clock lines just flow to the MIPI port on the snapdragon.
Thanks,
Kim
