Booting into fastboot - Make sure you hold the Vol (-) button for a couple of sec

Finally I set up ubuntu on one of my old amd64 laptops and made some progress with fastboot on DB820c.
I am following the instructions Flash the Bootloader on the DB820c,

Flashing the bootloader want OK
When I boot into fastboot after a while the UART serial output stoped and can’t continue.
I tried it again holding the Vol (-) button a bit longer and I got the desired output.

[590] fastboot: processing commands

I was able to successfully flash the bootloader and load the ALIP image.
I feel much more confident about the process.

I use a DB410c as a PC to Flash the Bootloader on the DB820c, following the instructions.
Execution of the followoing commands hangs (> 10m), stops for Ctrl+C.

sudo ~/qdl/qdl prog_ufs_firehose_8996_ddr.elf rawprogram.xml patch.xml

What could be broken?

Not sure yet… but I see the same thing when I try to do the debrick
process on my DB820C from a Developerbox (also AArch64 but running a
much a distro-style fully modular kernel).

Whatever the problem is looks like it might be non-trivial to debug. If
I use strace to see what is going on the behaviour of the tool changes!

Daniel.

Persistence paid off for me, but we need to ensure that novices (like me  ) have a pleasant experience, especially since it’s like the first date :hearts:
