HDMI audio not working with linaro release for DB820c

Hello 96board team,

We tested latest release from : http://builds.96boards.org/snapshots/dragonboard820c/linaro/debian/126/
And also snapshot from : http://snapshots.linaro.org/96boards/dragonboard820c/linaro/debian/153/

Details of test setup are as below:
Platform:
DB820c P4/SBC APQ8096(Evaluation Only version)
Downloaded from:
http://builds.96boards.org/snapshots/dragonboard820c/linaro/debian/126/

root@linaro-alip:~# uname -a
Linux linaro-alip 4.11.0-qcomlt #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Nov 6 23:24:36 UTC 2017 aarch64 GNU/Linux

root@linaro-alip:~# lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux testing (buster)
Release: testing
Codename: buster

HDMI audio is not working. It seems that aDSP firmware/binary fails to load with below error:
[ 3.941739] qcom_adsp_pil adsp-pil: adsp-pil supply px not found, using dummy regulator
[ 3.945393] remoteproc remoteproc0: adsp-pil is available
[ 3.952928] remoteproc remoteproc0: Direct firmware load for adsp.mdt failed with error -2
[ 3.958382] remoteproc remoteproc0: powering up adsp-pil
[ 4.031263] remoteproc remoteproc0: Direct firmware load for adsp.mdt failed with error -2
[ 4.037115] remoteproc remoteproc0: request_firmware failed: -2

We tried tricks to load firmware on bootup, but than board freezes after GPU firmware/binary is
loaded.

Do you observe same behaviour in your setup? Or something is wrong with mine?

Highly appreciate your help.

yes, it is working as expected, since we do not have support for audio on that kernel/build yet.

we are shooting for audio support toward the end of Jan in our builds, and we are moving from the 4.11 release branch to 4.14 branch in between as well.

Also please be aware that #126 is not the latest release. It is an old snapshot and is completely superseded by the #153 snapshot.

No new snapshots (or releases) will be uploaded to builds.96boards.org .

Thanks all for taking time.
